It's August 31 and I just made the final edits to the research paper part of my master's project. Sent it and the accompanying zine to my professors and the librarian who will add it to the URI digital commons. I'm THRILLED to kick off September with this project fully in the can.

There was a job open in my sector, in RI, early career but not entry level (required managerial experience). The posting closed after THREE DAYS. It's bad out there in the climate world, y'all.

Big "Screwfly Solution" vibes, I hate it
Fuentes, yesterday: “Our #1 political enemy is women because women constrain everything, every conversation, every man, everything. They have to be imprisoned. They are the ones that are hurting the fertility rate. They're the ones making us sympathetic to poor people, which are also brown people.”
Nick Fuentes: “The number one political enemy in America is women. … They have to be imprisoned.”

Happy birthday, Kate! I like your particular mix of compassion and kindness with a light grumble on the side (complimentary). Thanks for calling so many people into community, including me.
Poking my nose back in to say it's my birthday! I am 47. I'm glad that my elements are still in this form, on the best planet to ever do it. You can celebrate with me by doing one of the following 3 things:

Because it's made by dead-eyed morons who understand nothing, believe in nothing, bring no beauty to the world, have no capacity for reflection, and immiserate our collective existence with every hateful sentence they squirt out of their wet, waxy mouths. NEXT.

It helps to have a delightful party with whom to ADVENTURE 🧙🏼‍♀️
Turns out D&D mini golf is incredibly soothing. The equivalent of two Klonopin or a hug from one spellcaster. Our DM was amazing and wore a bath/wizard robe gifted to him by M. Night Shyamalan. 10/10. If you're in Providence, go!

Every instance of "AI democratizes the arts, you're classist and ableist and a gatekeeper for trying to stop it" is a slap in the face to the literally centuries of poor, disabled people making art on the margins and a crass lie in service of a machine that strips down and regurgitates dreams

“Governor Dan McKee today announced that he has accepted the resignation of Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) Director Peter Alviti, who will retire from RIDOT on February 27, 2026.”

My take: McKee realizes that holding onto Alviti will sink his re-election prospects.

It’s hard to put into perspective how truly massive the warehouse is that was recently sold by the Rockefeller Group to the Department of Homeland Security for $70 million to build a concentration camp in Surprise, AZ. Across the street is a huge neighborhood and a school. It’s 400,000-square-feet.

I love my friend and want to see them empowered to do even more good things for the city of Providence. VOTE JACKIE!!
It feels like both a weird and important time to announce my campaign. We are in a time of such darkness and have to have leaders who are going to fight for Providence. For affordable housing, for better streets and services and for our civil rights.
@jackiegoldman.bsky.social announces their candidacy for the open Providence Ward 5 City Council seat this year.

Rhode Island neighbors: would greatly appreciate it if you could watch and help share this documentary. Urge your state elected officials to support reversing service cuts before RIPTA becomes an unreliable mess. We need everyone onboard! 🚌
“Bus Cuts” is a short documentary by Brown University student filmmaker Maya Kelly. It follows five @RIPTA.com riders and one bus operator, highlighting how service cuts have impacted them. 🚌🚏⚓️

A thing I LOVE is that every shitty thing that happens in this world has the potential to radicalize someone. None of us emerged from the womb with perfect politics (whatever that is) but today my sister is participating in the local ICE walkout/rally and she invited me to join her.
