And there it is: Allyn Meyers jumps into the soon-to-be special election for chair of the Rhode Island GOP
Starting on Jan. 15, Vice Chair Niyoka Powell will serve as chair for 30 days, during which she'll need to call a special election.

"Blue slip" is referring to here is a tradition that the state's US senators also approve of the nominees for US Attorneys and District Court judges.
