Harasser of parkers in the SF bike lanes. Supporter of leftie causes and unions. Wonderer of why co-ops aren't still a thing.

Also a teeny tech CEO.

UPDATE: We may see the first time English is displaced as the most popular language among Bluesky posters as soon as Americans head to sleep tonight.

Japanese users were close to achieving that feat at 7 am Eastern Time, and their activity is increasing at an exponential pace. This is remarkable.

I know there's a grift here, but no idea what it is. Crypto? Probably crypto.

MAGA is so goddamn creepy, even in SF.

I'm walking down the street past a couple of signature gatherers and I hear "Voter ID." It takes me a few more steps but then I'm like "the fuck?"

In California we have these voter propositions that get on the ballot with X number of signatures.

Yup. Honestly I don't see the point of a deep reflection right now. We have an enemy to fight. The rank and file get it. Some leaders get it and that number increases every day. Just do that.
no one wants to read the truth, that Harris ran a very good campaign that substantially moved the needle in her direction but it wasn't enough to overcome a hostile environments driven by factors outside her or anyone's control

“That the DNC is mothballing whatever audit it could bring itself to conduct underscores that the party remains petrified of its own reflection.”

I don't know if I've ever seen such stupidity paired with such a belief in their own abilities. It's like Dunning Kreuger at scale.
Sincerely one of the funniest things the WSJ has ever written or done.

I did see LCD Soundsystem once in concert and it was fine. But we were there because Peaches was opening and she's so far beyond cringe she'll never stop being cool.
LCD Soundsystem Used to Be the Coolest Band In the World. How Did They Get So Cringe?
Watching the set at the Knockdown Center, I became aware that my favorite band had become unfathomably lame.

Goddamnit California, this is Woodstock all over again.
Gov. JB Pritzker signed a bill into law Tuesday to make Illinois the first state to issue vaccine recommendations independent of the CDC. Democrats believe Illinois should ensure healthcare regardless of decisions made by the federal government.

I've seen this with clients. The training problem is very real.
Entirely remote work means less training and opportunity for advancement, especially for younger workers, new research suggests. Here's what economists say.

Naw, too conflicted. Or fuck it, just John Cena that thing.

Dunno if this is an official account or what. It sort of acts like one. But anyway, it's pretty good messaging.
Awesome. Debt collectors are very good at being patient 👍

I'm going to pour myself a glass of something, light some candles and contemplate this gem:
"prosecutors conceded that the draft of the operative two-count second indictment that the case has been proceeding based on was never presented to nor voted on by the grand jury"

If your defense of hanging out with Epstein was "I didn't know about the girls, he was a cool dude", ya sus.

At best, at BEST the man was obviously a weird pervert.

The answer to 'Housing is expensive' is a 50 year mortgage? Are they trying to commit political suicide?

To me, Prop 50 means that both democratic leadership and the party's voters are on the same page. They proposed and we delivered. It won't be the last time.

Sometimes technology can still be good.
California hasn’t issued an emergency plea for the public to conserve energy, known as a Flex Alert, since 2022. Experts credit much of the progress to a surge in battery energy storage systems in recent years.
California invests big in battery energy storage — and leaves rolling blackouts behind
Batteries that pair with clean solar and wind energy or just bolster electrical grids in general have completely taken off and are making a big difference on the California grid.

Someone I know described how they used an AI chatbot with a verbal interface during podcasts to look things up.

That would drive me insane. To know that some percentage of what it told me was just nonsense. I couldn't listen to that.

He's been my SF supervisor and my State Senator. I'd love to see him in Congress.
It’s official: I’m running for Congress to represent San Francisco!

I’ll fight for our city – against Trump’s takeover, for our values, & for real progress. I’ve delivered on housing, healthcare, clean energy, & civil rights – & I’ll do it again.

Let’s build the future our city & country deserve.

I care more about policy than symbols so tearing down the White House is a 'meh' for me. But it's more disturbing the longer I think about it.
Kristi Noem’s new private jets. A shocking White House demolition. The Trump administration’s gilded priorities are clear.

The replies are pretty interesting. What I'm getting is that we haven't caught up to this era yet. I think we'll get there, though.
Someone doesn’t remember how badly going to a video store sucked, and just generally how much worse things were in the 90s-2000s. Oh, it doesn’t work perfectly? Sometimes they just didn’t have the thing you wanted. We live in an era of unprecedented media abundance and it’s has spoiled us rotten.
I would laugh if this wasn't so true 😭
