It's mostly right. A few democrats will pay the price at the end of a primary. The party on the whole won't, but it'll have slightly different politicians. And that's a good thing.

I think this is right. I'd also add that Trump getting spanked in the recent election shows that the public is on the right side. You can't mess around at the margins and beat this level of unpopularity. This wasn't the last bite at the apple.
