Old Prairie Dog, living in the shadow of the Rockies on my little piece of High Plains prairie. Done with formal career pursuits, but talk to me about the history of highways, meteorology, geology and seismology, or prog rock.
Northern lights in the middle latitudes. Pueblo West, Colorado sits at 38.3° lat. in the Arkansas River valley, with the Pikes Peak massif just north. At 7 p.m. MST, I could see the red glow. Greenish glow may be lights of Colorado Springs.

This is fully consistent with the current state of medical science at HHS.

Remember when no company could own more than seven broadcast stations? Imagine how difficult it would be to blacklist individual performers if there were a very few stations owned by companies whose licenses or mergers were vulnerable to government action.

I absofuckinglutely can't bear that my country is here. JFC, this can't be repaired in my remaining lifetime.
The f*cked part is that this is a totally rational thing to do in an autocracy. Businesses know His Royal Majesty can make doing business inordinately difficult, so they lavish him with gifts and praise his greatness and etc etc

I passionately hate that we're here

Trump Admin public affairs shops are openly trolling. Now they're posting white nationalist messages and the target audience is hearing it loud and clear. As a former Army spokesman I find it incredibly dangerous. My latest dives into the meaning in DHS's most recent 'Manifest Destiny' meme.
That's not a dog whistle
It's clear that white supremacists are currently running the social media and public relations shops of Federal agencies and that's dangerous for all of us

Fun fact: the last tv made in the US out of US manufactured components, was 1995, 30 years ago.

Since then no TVs have been made in the US out of US manufactured components and materials.

The US has not been able to domestically make televisions for over a quarter century

Whatever else happens today, I can celebrate that I'm no longer represented in Congress by Lauren Boebert. Her replacement probably won't cast votes significantly different from hers, but at least he doesn't appear to be an attention hound.

Mountain wave clouds with some embedded lenticulars, forming over the Wet Mountains in SE Colorado. These often present as lines of clouds parallel to the SE-NW trending ridge line, in contrast to the usual W->E wind flow here. The Wets adjoin the Great Plains.

Earlier this week, Bret Stephens, a house conservative at the New York Times wrote a particularly terrible piece titled “Done With Never Trump.” @therickwilson.bsky.social wrote a reply to Bret. Never Trump means Never Trump. If you agree, please share it widely.
