The administration's visual aids claimed that its tariff on territory -- which at this point consists only of a military base that the U.S. jointly operates -- was in retaliation for its tariffs and trade restrictions against the U.S.

As mind-numbingly stupid as this all is, perhaps the stupidest part is all of his party going along with the mad king like it's normal. Congress could end these tariffs before they start, but the whole party has gone stupid.
Incredibly, this appears to be true. We tariffed our own (jointly operated with the UK) military base.
We tariffed BIOT, Mike.

BIOT. Diego fucking Garcia.

We tarrifed our own military base.

"How damaging is it to your ability to recruit or build allies with others when they are worried that our leaders may be exposing them because of their gross negligence or their recklessness in handling information?"

Now go look up who said that.

Just an FYI: Medicaid fraud is rarely perpetrated by beneficiaries. The fraudsters are almost always the doctors and CEO's that administer Medicaid. For example: when a doctor charges the government $600 for an $8 breast pump and pockets the cash and the third party administrator takes a cut.

Oh fuck, what a grift. J6 terrorists sue a DOJ controlled by Trump; Trump orders DOJ lawyers to settle for an undisclosed amount, both sides agree to an NDA. This can happen dozens, hundreds of times. Just an ingenious way to funnel tax dollars to far-right terrorist groups.
Enrique Tarrio just announced a lawsuit against the DOJ. He says it will be funded by their crypto investments.

When people cheer Mangione, watch for tons of pearl-clutching about norms from people who absolutely reject and ignore both norms and actual laws. They seek to impose standards they don’t follow. They’d never apply those norms and standards to Trumpism.

This is becoming a Clarence Thomas trademark in criminal cases where he doesn't get his way: opinions with lurid, cinematic descriptions of the underlying crime, because in his mind, if a crime is Bad Enough, the person who (he thinks) did it shouldn't get constitutional rights at all
Nothing Enrages Clarence Thomas Like Criminal Defendants Having Constitutional Rights
Our bloodthirstiest justice is once again putting on his old-timey detective costume to solve a case he thinks came out the wrong way.

My first and definitely last time working with the Los Angeles Times. Editing out the most urgent point of an OpEd in the minutes before sending to press while then also assigning a title and image that suggest an argument entirely opposite to the author’s clear intent is pretty shitty.

WSJ: Trump chose two FBI officials to run it on acting basis pending Kash Patel confirmation. But WH screwed up and listed wrong guy in charge on their website. Instead of fixing it, the two just traded titles and offices.
