A lot of journalists are writing stories about DIY now and I don't trust any of them not to scaremonger about it to build support for crackdowns. I've refused requests for interviews on this. Do not talk to the media about DIY.
Trans people need to be careful about talking about DIY. Yes talk about it in the general sense, quote the facts and figures but be careful. Don't give away sources to cis folks. Don't talk to journalists about the details. They're coming for it.

if youre more terminally altruistically minded i suppose you could also imagine the trans community as a piece of chainmail which you, as a link, strengthen by your very presence. the more of us there are, the less pressure on all of us. so really you have an altruistic duty to continue existing

I heard Stephen A. Smith tell CNN yesterday that "people are afraid they're going to lose their job for messing up a pronoun" and it really amazes me how many people don't realize they are awash in intentional propaganda designed to make them afraid of the wrong things and angry at the wrong people
Men are not constantly being told “you’re bad,” they are constantly being told “LEFT WING SJWS THINK YOU’RE BAD” by conservative propaganda. There’s a huge difference.
I have two sons, and I don't think I've ever seen messaging going "Don't be a boy" or "YOU'RE BAD."
Sure looks like that's in "I heard someone say that they heard..." territory, rather than actual direct experience.
