Created/co-wrote Golden Heroes (it’s in Wikipedia). Write/publishes various other TTRPGs on an iPAD in his bedroom. Easing back into my gaming & TTRPG con addiction ATM.

My games:

I’m at the CON-DENSED convention on Worthing. So far I’ve run Golden Heroes. I’ve run a classic dungeon from DUNGEON Magazine #3 - “Falcon’s Peak” (using my d6 Hack rules). I’ve played in PbtA Games “Escape from Dinosaur Island” and a quick game of ”This house is f*cking haunted.”

Fun.

How long are you willing to wait for your TTRPG fix?

I am not a fan of deferred gratification. My feelings vary over time. What I’m enjoying today might not be what I fancy the day after tomorrow.

I shouldn’t really comment on Kickstarter as I don’t use it. But….

The most egregious bigotry is the misogyny of the ubiquitous patriarchy. How can 50% of the population be disadvantaged as a matter of course? Even people claiming they’re discriminated against in other ways accept the sidelining or mistreatment of women.
"my least woke opinion is---"

That's enough. We've had enough people indulging in the "thrill of a little conservatism", as a treat. Of considering reactionary thought to be a salacious and taboo in a world descending into reactionary mania.

Give me your MOST woke opinions. We're bringing it back.

What was your “small acorn”? Mine was TROLLCRUSHER!

I was well looked after by my family. Probably too much. Being “a bit different” they really looked out for me. I felt molly-coddled. So as soon as I could, I applied to go to a University away from home.

Especially if you are going to Dragonmeet this year, please can you boost this post? Would love to meet new faces at the hang out and have a good attendance to our panel 💜
I am BACK at Dragonmeet this year and we're doing things a bit differently. There's no all-day PoC Lounge this year but the midday hangout is STILL ON so come join us at any time between 12:30 and 2:30. We're also doing one panel where EVERYONE is welcome so catch us on Seminar Track 3 at 3:30💜

Perfect response. Nothing to add.

(Except 1960’s UK TV Spy Series “Callan” got pretty much a whole episode out of a prison changing to a better padlock on one of its doors. UK engineers know their stuff and UK padlocks are not a trivial challenge.)
Short thread of random thoughts on this truism of "players like to roll dice", using the classic "pick a lock" example:

Parker, the World's Greatest Thief is confronted with a lock. As a GM you have 3 options:

1. If it can be picked, she picks it. The player can narrate how. Parker's badass

[1/4]
Yeah, this person was saying that they like to let players roll when they already know that the roll can't succeed, so the player finds out through "immersion". And I'm just like...

Even if you are fully capable of busking a game, should you prepare for even the shortest session?

(This will be the last post about my “Choose Your Adventure” set-up for the foreseeable, honest!)

In an hour or less you can deliver only a limited amount of PLOT.

#TTRPGS as force for good.

I have the great honour of meting and playing with these guys a couple of weekends ago at ArmadaCon:

Highly recommended.
I'm 2 followers off 1.5K. I'd have more of that if I didn't block all the suspiciously lady-only-following accounts, but it would be nice to reach the next milestone. So if you're interested in TTRPGs, sketching, memes and snark, I'm yer woman.
Here's a Godzilla meme to tempt you in.

I know things vary across the world & not everywhere is a lucky as we are in the UK with our plethora of conventions.

And some people are really happy with playing at their local club or with a home group.

But cons bring so many ancillary benefits I recommend everyone tries to visit one sometime.
I enjoy reading your posts, but have nothing constructive to add. I haven't been to a con since maybe 2004...

If you don’t want to be approached by a strange man offering to run short, fun, TTRPG demos, what will attract you to the table?

A) A pull up banner. Is this once still viable or should I have another produced (with a different choice of letters?)

I’m aware this was on Facething but it’s like a perfect example of a Convention Showrunner doing his thing.

Name’s Darius Twyman. I saw this today, Tuesday. The Con ended on Sunday. Fast! He knows and thanks everyone (inc. me).

Exemplary.

Several people have asked me about self-publishing at conventions recently. I can survive with just the default Drivethru ones now.

But stuff like this is invaluable. Download every free Affinity template and adapt them to your project. Got to be a time saver.

Thanks WW!
We have updated our Affinity Publisher 1-2 templates to include a small doc on how *we* prepare our files for print!

They are extremely basic, but have all the right dimensions for you not to worry that something gets cut off!

Nope. I’d never heard of it either.

For CGC + Cotton Powell Museum Tabletop Gaming Convention. (It just trips off the tongues doesn’t it. CGC by the way stands for Canterbury Games Convention which just makes things worse.)

I was resurrecting my “Choose Your Adventure” set-up.

What’s your convention luggage of choice?

Ever since my “lite” games epiphany when I found it was cheaper to FLY to Scotland than catch a train (it STILL makes no sense) I’ve been fixated on travelling to conventions with a single flight-bag sized hold-all.
