AHEM, COLUMBUS.
If you need a car to get from the airport to your city’s downtown, your airport sucks. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

Involved in @transitcolumbus.org. Regularly donating to at least four other local organizations. Trying to shop local where I can. Making connections with neighbors.
Inspired by @gregpak.net, please tell me something you’re doing, other than voting and attending No Kings marches, that opposes fascism or helps your community. Let’s share our ideas!

You know I’m doing whistle crew and fundraising for mutual aid. I’m hoping to do more local work again soon.

"What if we prioritized clearing bus stops so riders could wait safely, rather than on the road inches from deadly traffic? That’s the world I want to live in, where my city centers the safety and the dignity of its citizens and ensures safety across all forms of transit."

"What if Columbus cleared sidewalks like our roads and actively enforced the city code requiring property owners and businesses to shovel their sidewalks, so pedestrians can move freely with less risk from cars?"

Letters: Trump needs to fix our mail system. There's no protection for pedestrians. Ohio pays a hefty price for natural gas, oil usage.

Something to keep in mind the next time the city tries to repurpose parking and drivers complain that every last car is necessary at all times. The storm was two weeks ago.

This crash literally occurred while @trevinflickinger.com and I were working on a statement about recent pedestrian deaths and injuries.

if you need to travel on foot across a highway in columbus, you either have to trudge through a foot of snow or are forced to walk in the roadway

Summer Olympics can have the tram driver world championship.
If the Summer Olympics can have dressage, the Winter Olympics should have snow plow operation.

Did you guys know you can just do stuff like shovel out bus stops and build benches for your neighbors?

We had a blast building benches and shoveling with Strong Towns Columbus in honor of Transit Equity Day!

Sometimes, only sometimes. The stress of life is worth enduring to feel it melt away during an after work bike ride that’s just aimless. Directionless. Not a-b - like my bikes an uber or an Audi. Of course it’s always temporary. Tomorrow will have its stresses. But there’s always another bike ride🚲♥️

grateful to @brentincolumbus.bsky.social for pointing out why someone might be walking in the street. i urge other journalists covering traffic fatalities to follow his lead. it *does not have to be this way* and the more we ID the actual problem, the more we can push for the right solutions.

A driver hit a pedestrian last night in Columbus, severely injuring them. The article says the pedestrian was "was walking in the roadway" but fails to mention there's no sidewalk in that area

I saw this production this weekend. It was incredible and exactly what I needed in this moment. A story of a community coming together, people connecting, and the strength that comes from caring for one another.

It is not easy being a pedestrian right now in Columbus. It is absolutely debilitating if you use a walking assistance device or a wheelchair. This photo is from the OSU medical campus which is as good as it gets in the entire city
