Investigatory records show State Rep. Gary Click was recently accused of beating, starving and sexually abusing a minor.

The alleged victim denied Click's involvement.

Fremont Police declined to press charges, and the Ohio BCI refused to investigate any further.

Don’t make me say nice things about dayton
One of the most surprising results on Tuesday night happened in the Gem City, where a socialist-backed insurgent upset the 78-year-old “Mayor Grab Ass.”

It wouldn’t have been possible if establishment Democrats had succeeded in backstabbing her in 2021.

Socialist-backed insurgent defeats Mayor Grab Ass... in Dayton!?
Dayton Mayor-Elect Shenise Turner-Sloss continued to embarrass the Gem City political establishment on Tuesday night.

Today’s Rooster is about Tuesday night’s results and the trouble in the water for Vivek Ramaswamy, whose once-outsider campaign has embedded itself inside the traditional GOP apparatus.

Plus why, IMO, Dr. Acton is now favored over Tim Ryan in a primary.

Trouble in the water
Tuesday night's local results highlight the danger in the Ohio Republican Party anointing Vivek Ramaswamy as the ticket-bearer way before the historical timeline required.

The Democrats got a map that, as recently as a two weeks ago, would have seemed like an impossible outcome.

They can thank Senate President Rob McColley’s political ambitions.

I spent the weekend talking to insider Democrats and Republicans about Ohio's "bipartisan" congressional map deal.

Republicans furious over squandering their position of power can thank Rob McColley and Bob Paduchick for what, frankly, was a Democratic heist.

Inside the Ohio Democratic Congressional heist
Ohio Democrats walked away with a deal that would have seemed impossible as little as month ago. They can thank a "small group of people."

How about Senate Minority Leader Tricky Nickie?

She endorses Bryan Hambley for SoS to try and throw Allison Russo under the bus for the state maps bipartisan deal they struck—only to do the same thing w/ the Congressional maps, with Dani Isaacsohn taking the brunt of the heat?

It’s WAR in the Queen City after House Minority Leader Dani Isaacsohn threw Cincinnati Congressman Greg Landsman under the bus in a side deal with Congresswoman Emilia Sykes.

The leadership definitely does not understand the level of anger in the base at the moment.
I don’t think the upper echelons of Ohio Democratic Party leadership understands what harm theyre doing to the party.

If we all held a vote of all Ohio Dems saying to bar current leaders from leadership in the party, I’d bet it’d be almost unanimous in giving them the boot.
And here is why people get sick of the Democratic fundraising apparatus.

Emilia Sykes cuts a deal to protect herself, withdraws her support for a referendum, and then solicits cash while painting Republicans as sole actors.

It takes advantage of people’s ignorance.

Just got this unbelievably cynical fundraising appeal from Rep. Emilia Sykes, correctly calling this “the Ohio GOP’s most gerrymandered House maps yet.” But she doesn’t mention that she and Ohio Democratic Party leadership also approved the maps or how they *help* her! punchbowl.news/article/camp...

In some non-redistricting news: All signs pointing to Tim Ryan entering the Ohio gubernatorial primary in the next “two to three weeks.”

Secretary of State candidate and State Rep. Allison Russo of Upper Arlington is the odds-on favorite to land as his running mate.

Said one fair maps advocate about today’s dispatch: “That was more depressing than usual.”
Today’s Rooster dispatch details how a Democratic ploy tor a potential statewide referendum seemingly evaporated when a bipartisan deal appeared.

According to three sources, Landsman told Isaacsohn: “Don’t wory, Dani, I am not going to fuck you.”

Whatever you think of this deal, the whole saga really drives home the need to take redistricting out of the hands of currently elected officials and give it to a citizens commission or similar body. The interests of these politicians are just different than our interests in being well represented.

Gov, can we get confirmation for the people that we're old texting buddies?

"Where'd you get that map, man?"

You gave it to me.

"Bullshit!"

We're old texting buddies!

"Don't be telling anybody that."

There is a letter, seen by only a handful of people, from the victim’s lawyer to council, that documents Remy’s obnoxious behavior.

The public deserves to see that letter, even in redacted form to protect the victim’s identity.

The Remy problem: The sustained workplace complaint and impending financial settlement against a sitting councilman is likely unprecedented in Columbus history.

And thanks to the silence of those around him, he’s cruising to re-election next week.
