@govpritzker.illinois.gov Can we get something like this in Illinois? I don't see the federal government moving on this any time soon.
If you are a resident of California, the state now has a portal where you can demand deletion of your personal data from 500+ registered data brokers with a single request form, for free.

Absolutely stupid to change this -- how much time does it take to actually verify the postage and put the postmark on when they get it?
This is a good visual. Looks like in order to ensure we have proof that we mailed something on a specific day, we will have to stand in line at the post office and request a manual post mark.

Man, it’s bad enough with Alexa. You’re here to be my on-demand jukebox (a job you suck at) and tell me the weather. Our relationship ends there. I don’t want a “morning routine”, hydration alerts or for you to pipe up every time it rains (I own another more effective device called a window.)
"Would you like some toast? Some nice hot crisp brown buttered toast. No? How about a muffin then? Nothing? You know the last time you had toast. 18 days ago. I mean what's the point in buying a toaster with artificial intelligence if you don't like toast. This is my job. This is cruel, just cruel."
Also, this just in -> the latest bizarre AI fever dream is AI-controlled trivets, staplers, and coffee cups on wheels. So we'll be chased around by inanimate wheeled objects clamoring for our attention.

Canada is not treacherous. Canada is the nice upstairs neighbor who turned us on to Rush, dropped off Nanaimo bars and is doing its best to talk us out of Trump’s worst impulses
The @theatlantic.com claims that Canadians will use "treachery" to make America and its media look "silly".
No, we are a democratic people who hate thugs and their pusillanimous enablers.
Deal with it.

Thoroughly proud of everyone at 60 Minutes for refusing to abandon their journalistic ethics, doing the story and releasing it after CBS tried to kill it, knowing there’s a good chance they would get fired for doing so.
Stephen Miller wants everyone at 60 Minutes who “engaged in this revolt” (aka told the truth) fired

Funny how none of these newly-conservative actors and musicians are ever on the rise. I’m sure that must be a coincidence.

Just going to point out that I appreciate that a Federal org is using Bluesky (and pretty much every other platform) to get the word out about these recalls to as many people as possible.

Just great to see an agency still doing their work as intended without injecting politics into it.
#RECALL: YCXXKJ Baby Bath Seats; The recalled bath seats violate the mandatory standard for infant bath seats because they are unstable and can tip over while in use, posing a risk of serious injury or death due to drowning. Get refund. www.cpsc.gov/Recalls/2026...

It flopped, but the core idea (give me something small and mobile that's electric, rechargeable and faster than walking) has definitely found purchase in scooters and e-bikes and I'm kind of surprised someone hasn't adapted the gyroscope balancing thing onto the smaller form factor of a scooter.
Younger people who didn't witness it cannot fathom the hype around the Segway. Every news station agreed it would revolutionize the entire social fabric of the Earth. That all future humans would divide history between the savage days of the past, and the soon to be new era of zoom zoom scoot scoot.
