Remembrance Sunday:
Such an important day for all around the UK. bu
But, I spent this weekend thinking about my late father-in-law who passed away one year ago this weekend, and also in the pub watching football.
I don't know if this makes me a bad person, but it is what happened.

I love that the Boston cop slide never got fixed and now people just willingly go down it in tribute. It’s basically a national landmark at this point

The self radicalisation of billionaires in their own personal right wing cesspools of hate is going to be a great subject for PhDs and research…
…so long as we make it through.
Not the race war; that’s not a real thing. It’s the fascism and hate they’re promoting that that’s the real issue.

Genuinely curious -
At what point do you start protesting and become an activist?
In the UK 🇬🇧 many people feel disillusioned but I wonder who would fight for their values if threatened.... I wonder if that time is coming soon. But I'm probably wrong.

Just looked again on X. While Keir is posting about business, Shabana as home secretary called out violence against police yesterday but nothing about the racism or Musk. Silence from other bigwigs like Lammy, Cooper, Reeves..
That feeling of desperately wanting your elected government to loudly call out racism & far right violent extremists...
And nothing.
Labour so afraid to lose power, it has forgotten both how to use it & that with power comes responsibility.
As America gets ever darker, too little light here.

Right now, I chuckle at the obvious satire and underlying social commentary on the state of our politicians and social discourse on nuanced complex issues.
But I also live in a time when separating news headlines from satire has not always been straightforward, so the jokes on me I suppose.

If I was #Wilder my condition to return to the club would NOT be
💷 more salary, ❌
📈 bigger transfer budget or ❌
⚽ greater control over footballing decisions: ❌
It would be on condition the leadership that sacked me step down first and have nothing further to do with the club. ✅

Mexican tetras that got swept into pitch-black caverns had no use for the energetically costly organs. They lost their eyes in multiple ways — and gained some nifty traits too.
