Love to call my D senators about opposing specific Trump nominees and know they're gonna vote to approve them anyway, because that's how the NH senators always do 🤬🖕🤬

I would amend this to say both sides view pissing off the Dem base as a *positive good* - Republicans because of sadism and Dems because it shows they're "serious".
American politics makes a lot more sense when you realize that the GOP is afraid of pissing off the GOP base, and the Dems are afraid of pissing off the GOP base, but neither party is afraid of pissing off the Dem base.

Infuriating that there's nothing I can do to stop my Senators from folding, time and time again. "Watch out, Jeanne Shaheen, I'm gonna ...not vote for your daughter to replace you!" yeah ok.

The fact that NH has 400 state reps earning $200 (no digits missing) for a 2 year term certainly impacts who can try to join that clown car =(
The Mayor of New York only makes $260k. I bet there are police that make more than that in NY with overtime.

We need to pay elected leaders more money and stop pretending it's some sort of calling. They're managing hundreds of billions of dollars in investments and millions of people's lives.

Sorry, but a lack of support for autonomous vehicles is not among Sec Pete's biggest missed opportunities at USDOT.

For instance:
🔹 Failure to stop Tesla from lying about Autopilot, FSD, etc
🔹 Failure to curb car bloat
🔹 Continuing to spend fed $$ on highway expansions that won't fix congestion
Pete Buttigieg Admits Biden Administration Should've Done More To Grow Autonomous Vehicles — Says DOGE-Like Department 'Makes Tons Of Sense'
Biden-era Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg says that the Biden administration could've done more to drive growth in the adoption of autonomous vehicles in the U.S. Autonomous Driving Tech Is Sa...

Trump is the only one who technically has “immunity” under the Supreme Court’s current bizarro interpretation, as I understand it. Hegseth and everyone else could hypothetically face justice under our current system.

But I agree on handing Trump to the International Criminal Court.
Since the SC won't let us prosecute him, we should just hand Trump over to the ICC and say "Go nuts!"

it doesn’t get any clearer that america’s betrothal to fossil fuels is about letting energy companies pick our pockets to prop up their obsolete industry
Australia has so much electricity from solar power that it is going to start offering free electricity to everyone for at least three hours during the day as the wholesale price of power goes negative

Australia's extensive solar power penetration makes so much energy that the government wants to offer free electricity at peak hours.

The thing about Johnson not swearing in Grijalva is that’s it a test for 2026.

If you think they will accept an outcome they don’t like, they will just Grijalva it.

So what’s the plan when the GOP says “we ain’t leaving, fuck you, make us.”

Because that IS what they are going to say.
