I write about space, in several places. Used to write about other stuff? But now pretty much it's space. I also talk about gaming here, though. Also politics, sadly and mostly unwillingly, but I do try to damp it down a bit

I have come to despise cleverness in political messaging. No bon mots. No highlighting hypocrisy. I want leaders with the subtlety of an anvil

Master Detective Rain Code feels like Kodaka played Somnium Files and yelled I WANNA MAKE ONE OF THESE

And it seems to be sorta working, except for how the protagonist is such a damp unremarkable puddle compared to Date or Mizuki

Minigames are fun tho

Today's valuable reminder that they want to empty out white collar jobs with genAI so regular-ass people will be forced to take on blue and pink collar jobs, driving down the cost of labor

Their own kids will continue to be comfy, mind. It's YOUR kids that will have busted knees by forty

Pretty sure those door-to-door con artists offer a better return

The funny thing is that all this stuff is entirely elite-driven and top-down, there's no popular buy-in for any of this shit

Even in the United States Trump is historically unpopular, and if anything it seems to be getting worse over time

That's why everyone's worried about midterms disruption
Ceding all forms of autonomy to Trump is now a well-established position within Britain's media and among British media owners.

This is the reason why theyre trying to crack down on speech/expression online, and repeal section 230. Its all under the guise of demonizing porn/protecting children but the actual goal is hamstringing peoples ability to do exactly this, counter state propaganda.
I do sort of idly wonder what the impact of everyone having a phone with a camera has done to the tenability of fascist projects like this, especially in the vein this administration is going for - overtly inspired by the 1930s Nazi movement with its very public performances of propaganda.
as @cooperlund.online says, they’re just making content. and a shivering nazi weeping as he has to be helped by protestors away from his failed rally just a few miles away from where folks are enjoying a brisk day of sledding is a propaganda coup

It IS funny how this is the response every single time these guys say they want to annex someone

I think this is why Rubio created that weird tributary thing in Venezuela, because otherwise it's gonna get real Bolivarian real fast
HAPPENING NOW in Nuuk: Massive crowds are marching in Nuuk, Greenland to protest the Trump administration.

Photo by Pierre Lavie. Yes this is me. And I threw my Leica. It landed on the bass plate with hardly a scratch. Another Photographer grabbed it along with my phone and I was able to track him later. I was held face down tear gas deployed right in front of me and pepper sprayed directly into the eye.

Cool so the whole issue with people only playing older games just got so much worse, because potential buyers are going to assume anything new is dripping with slop

This is definitely going to help your platform and not push people back to the high seas (live by the stolen content...)

AI is part of what’s killing adobe but not in this sense. You can’t open Acrobat without it bugging you to use its AI. You can’t toggle it off. Everybody hates that shit. Nobody wants it. This will be the fate of every company trying to force AI

"Patching complete" oh did Wuthering Waves finally stop its new character from having weird vibrating legs

...nope

God the TAA in the PS5 version of this game is completely ass, I know that it isn't a focus but Kuro are at the "why are you even bothering to support it" level of not caring

Continually marveling at how Star Rail manages to make such inherently interesting concepts and ideas...so fucking boring

Like Wuthering Waves is one thing, but every one of Hoyo's other big games are enormously better, and that is so bizarre considering we're talking about Genshin here

This reminds me a bit of that FF16 thing where you can always look up terms and relationships and whatnot during a cutscene

It ALSO reminds me of something I'm always yelling: every narrative game needs a well-made codex and EVERY SINGLE LOADING SCREEN TIDBIT NEEDS TO BE IN THAT CODEX.

All of them

But Tim, buddy, you must understand that they will do this no matter what you say or do. This is a pure power play and you cannot Clever your way out of it
