If your city is next, mutual aid and neighborhood watch networks are the most important things to scale up, but whistles are a great tool to get people taking the first step.

I’m One of the Clergy ICE Assaulted. They Treat Immigrants Worse
I learned the hard way that my clerical collar doesn’t offer much protection from ICE. But immigrants have no protection at all.

This story now includes video, released by the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights, of the baby being exposed to chemical irritants fired by federal agents from their convoy into the car she was riding in with members of her family near 26th Street and Ogden Avenue in Cicero.
Federal officials accused someone of firing shots at agents conducting an aggressive immigration raid led by Border Patrol chief Greg Bovino through Little Village Saturday. No one was injured.
Agents used chemical agents to disperse the crowd, @sigchofor25.bsky.social said.

Chicagoans never stop. I was just watching a live stream of a press conference held by community members in front of FBI headquarters. In the rain in the dark. Umbrellas at hand they are calling for the release of 6 people taken by ICE, 3 also arrested by CPD. They never stop fighting.

Today has been one of those days where we see the value of local news. If you can, please support local news by subscribing. Small independent ones also need support. There is so much not told due to immensity of issues but there’s also so much valuable reporting rn too.
subscribe to local news in cities dealing with surges of ice/cbp/national guard / federal agents. these reporters are providing some of the only documents we have concerning the acts of our government against civilians, against immigrants.
“Next to the car, a man screamed and stripped off his shirt. Another woman spoke to him in Spanish, telling him to let her put water on his head. The man and the baby had both been hit by pepper spray.”

Today I protested ICE fascists at the Broadview, IL facility, as I have for several months. I've shared before every time the escalation of violence has been by the State against peaceful protestors.

That happened again today.

This is the most comprehensive reporting released on the DHS-alleged shooting so far. Read the entire story (reminder: reporters don't usually choose headlines).

For folks asking if it's true an ICE agent was shot: no, that is a verifiably false rumor. No injuries. A lot else remains in question.
