funny Star Trek thing: they cast Brent Spiner as Commander Serious in 1985, then immediately realized that Brent Spiner is a certified S-tier Weird Freak Guy actor, and have spent the past 40 years casting him as a variety of Weird Freak Guys who just happen to look identical to Commander Serious

I feel like I've said this before somewhere, but I think the reason people keep getting shocked that I voice all my characters is because they see me as something along the lines of a "Theatre Of The Unaligned" whereas in actuality I'm a lot more of a "Ryan George"

deeply frustrating that there's only one Halloween a year because Scuti and Seiya from @swordscomic.bsky.social's Stars comic would be a perfect Dakota and June costume

Remember, “the squeaky wheel gets the grease.”

Keep complaining, friends.
Another quote from Coca-Cola's Head of Generative-AI:

“The haters on the Internet are the loudest. A lot of the people complaining last year were from the creative industry who were just afraid"

Tell Mastercard and Visa about this. When you call tell them you're going to petition your bank to switch. Doesn't matter how much you think they would. It happened.
Funny story: my bank recently sent out an emergency notification letter, which stated they were sending me a new debit card, because they had changed vendors. The old card was a MasterCard. The new one arrived - it’s Discover.

Looks like even banks are noping out of MasterCard’s madness.
MasterCard is marketing its new MasterCard Threat Intelligence platform to issuers & acquirers. A source familiar w/ MasterCard’s internal operations told me MTI is flagging anime, VTubing, adult content, tabletop, video games as potentially “high fraud risk”

it is just amazing how much congressional reporting is just reworking "why havent you rolled over yet? do you hate america?" until you clock out for the day
I love how Rep. Joe Neguse reframed this question.

This is reminds of a band from Sweden I learned about. The lead made a hybrid electronic-hand cranks music machine that makes its song(s) via marbles dropping on a variety of instruments.

Imagine if Americans had that safety net to keep us afloat.

reminder that this is what we want to avoid, and this is why Wikipedia keeps asking you for $5. this is what a Wikipedia that doesn't get donations looks like.
grokipedia inspired me to read about commercial Wikipedia clones/derivatives and omg "wikiwand" is such a racket! brands itself as "beautiful wikipedia UX" but basically just slaps ads on articles and charges $5/mo to remove them. and misleads you into thinking the $ supports wikipedia!!!

y'know in difficult times like these it's at least a small comfort to know that it's not JUST United States men who are insane and stupid. sometimes men from other countries also have insane and stupid tendencies

It's crazy to me that it's fallen to @wired.com to lead the way on this kind of reporting, but I've never been happier to be a subscriber.
NEW: ICE is planning to build a shadow deportation network in Texas. A proposal outlines a 24/7 transport operation run by armed contractors—turning Texas into the logistical backbone of an industrialized deportation machine.
