It's true that lack of screening is bad, but the shootings so far have been by longtime agents. We cannot look away from that fact - existing federal employees are willing to shoot civilians. The shooters of Renee Good, Marimar Martinez, and Alex Pretti all had 8-18 years at DHS.

And another sort of addition to the family: Rob and I have "adopted" a pair of Great Horned Owls who reside at the Cotswold Falconry Centre, Moreton in Marsh, Gloucestershire. We have a resident pair in our part of town here at home, so it seemed fitting. They are magnificent.

Just got the license renewal notice for the Savandals, listed as "2 senior cat licenses." They are only 6 years old! Then I realized that they meant that *I* am a senior, and thus entitled to a discount. Duh.
