Two problems with this frantic "The story wasn't ready" statement are 1) When a story isn't ready, you know it days, sometimes weeks in advance, not hours and 2) Bari Weiss' idea of how "to do more" has already been made public, and it was to call Stephen Miller. In short, she's lying.

One explanation for Bari killing the story is that she did so as a public act of fealty to the administration. But another is that, as an inexperienced journalist, she doesn’t understand that a refusal to go on the record is a kind of comment in and of itself

I heard the theme is berries. This is a native CA shrub called Toyon. Often called CA holly. White crowned sparrow on the right. Mockingbirds love the berries & aggressively guard them against other birds. 🪶
