The DOJ’s newest lawyers played key roles in efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election. They’re now helping to lead some of the department’s voting issues — a move that underscores the DOJ’s shift from protecting voting rights to undermining them.

This is what nearly 16 years of the Citizens United decision has culminated into: greedy tech oligarchs corruptly pouring tens of millions into Trump's super PAC in pursuit of favorable policies at working people's detriment.

This is what legalized corruption looks like.
Trump’s super PAC brought in over $100 million in the second half of 2025.

The co-founder of OpenAI and his wife gave $25 million.

One crypto company gave over $20 million.

Oligarchs broadly, and tech oligarchs specifically, are backing Trump to the hilt.

This is what corruption looks like.

The Trump Administration fast-tracked nearly $1 billion of taxpayer money to a company run by a major political donor — skipping the usual checks and putting political appointees in charge of the process.

As long as the Citizens United decision stands, there is no ceiling in sight that would limit this level of corruption.

And if the Supreme Court sides against the Federal Election Commission in FEC vs. NRSC, things will only get worse.
