I had the *best* gig ever for 20 years-volunteering at a local exotic wildlife sanctuary. Literally lions and tigers and bears. (Monkeys, lemurs, wolves, cougars, jaguars, etc). I had to give it up because I was too sick (chronically) to go. I’m still grieving about it.

That happens to me. Smudgie was my heart, there will never be another one like him. But a feral cat had kittens on my barn after he died and we rescued all 4 of them. They aren’t Smudge, but they’re a comfort to have.

I adopted two roosters from my neighbors and they were both psychotic. And HUGE. 😱 I had to go in there fully covered (no short sleeves and armed with a broom.) They still made me bleed multiple times.

Max, my weirdo cat, had to spend yesterday at the vet for a random gastric something. Waiting for labs to come back but he feels much better today! He’s 11, so geriatric work up done. He isn’t an orange cat but he FOR SURE has an orange cat brain.

HOORAY! 🎉 you’ll have to take my word for it until I get pics off the big camera, but we have a pair of cedar waxwings that have (apparently) moved in! We’ve been on this house for 24 years and I’ve never seen a cedar waxwing before. I LOVE them! 🥰
