It’s romance. It’s dark fantasy. It’s a Christmas horror story. It’s a righteous fury revenge quest. It’s about love lasting longer than death. It’s got cannibalism, blood magic, a guy full of bugs, a protag w chronic pain, and an OT3.

Let’s celebrate with a teaser made by @izzysinger.bsky.social

You’re going to be okay. Someone will hate your book. You’re going to be okay. Someone will not get what you’re trying to do with your art and judge you. You’re going to be okay. You’re going to keep creating, in 2026, because you need it and because the world needs you to. Okay?

Today is Jane Austen's 250th birthday! If you wish there'd been queer characters in the originals, check out my Austentatious series, beginning with THE UNLIKELY PURSUIT OF MARY BENNET.

I murdered Mr Collins off in the first line so that Charlotte Lucas can have a 2nd chance at happiness. (thread)

My one award-eligible work this year is my novella, HOW TO SURVIVE THIS FAIRYTALE, a queer exploration of healing & trauma that consistently makes readers cry. When voting, I hope you'll consider it.

be the bigolas dickolas you wish to see in the world.
FWIW: Mention books you like or you think others might like. You never know what'll happen:

I saw The Sad Bastard Cookbook here so I mentioned it on Masto (in a "in case you need this" sense). It kinda went viral (1K shares). It jumped to a high ranking on Amazon and then they got media attention.
I see some book piracy discourse, and, to make a positive argument in favor of buying books, your marginal ability to influence what books get published and support the careers of writers you like is massive compared to most other forms of media.

I'm still grieving the loss of my mom with no end in sight and I have no words for the anger this instills in me. I hope every single person involved in this burns in hell.
For real, check this out. Evil.

I’m consistently blown away by the response to HOW TO SURVIVE THIS FAIRYTALE.

This year has been pretty terrible for me, and it’s been a blessing to see readers connect with this story of triumphant gay love, trauma, second chances, and rewriting your story.

Me, falling in love with weird things since the 80s.
I get normies giving me looks. All I think is, wow, must be boring to be like that. I do not care if they think I'm cringe. tbh I think some are envious of us cringy ppl. I've been oft told by ppl that I seem free. And I am in this way.
I think some people are also scared to explore outside mainstream art because they might encounter something they fall in love with, but no one they know likes it. They don't want to be embarrassed or cringe or whatever by being the outsider.
Oh nooooooessss, you might read / play / hear / watch something you didn't fall in love with?

That's actually okay.
