Shutting down the government is a big deal. People have been hurt in big ways as a result of the decision. To have that suffering be for nothing—to re-open the government without actually having protected people’s health insurance and economic well-being—is unconscionable.

I worked at a farm store that tried this. It lasted about a month before customers complained that they weren’t there for a social call and wanted to be left alone to do their shopping. Love no nonsense farm folk.

My laptop is still on its initial charge from three days ago. I have been using it a lot every day either to continue setting things up or writing. It STILL has over 50% battery life. (My old laptop had about two hours life off the charger.)
