Last year I purposely started it in a bit of a chaotic design, but this year I have taken what I learned and calmed it down. It is more structured with same and similar weights of weft yarns.

Kimberly Hardy is running for Congress in the southeastern NC district where I grew up and often visit. A high poverty, high crime area that desperately needs an intelligent, empathetic representative who will work for the people, especially people of color and women.

Brilliant!
For those of us not in the cult, this is what we hear when anyone from the Trump administration speaks.

For the people in the back, this is satire and so well done…

I finally settled on a scheme for my 2026 tapestry diary. Still weather themed with a coded color for every five degree range of temperature from 0 to 100 F, but the high temp for each day color is on the bottom of each tiny rectangle and the low temp is on the top. #tapestrydiary #tapestry #weaving

Daily practice

I think that I've figured out that I'm going back to stitching and creating woven pieces with cloth strips and paper every day and integrating found objects as I get a whim. The ones that I've done in the past provided me with a lot of pleasure. However, the problem with this plan…

I think that I've figured out that I'm going back to stitching and creating woven pieces with cloth strips and paper every day and integrating found objects as I get a whim. The ones that I've done in the past provided me with a lot of pleasure. However, the problem with this plan is that it always takes up more time than I intend, and I want my focus to be on tapestry and new tapestry designs for this year.

2026 and current project, plans

First, here's my current tapestry project. I'm still musing over a title because it is truly abstract. What I've noticed is that the lines and shapes have taken on lives of their own in my mind. Right now I'm leaning toward "Fuzzy Dreams." The inspiration and…

First, here's my current tapestry project. I'm still musing over a title because it is truly abstract. What I've noticed is that the lines and shapes have taken on lives of their own in my mind. Right now I'm leaning toward "Fuzzy Dreams." The inspiration and cartoon is a painting I did in a mark making exercise with Jill Berry. I've had this painting on my bedroom closet door for a long time - this is often an incubation space for me.

2025 Wrap-up

It's time for my annual ritual of summarizing the previous year and writing about my hopes and plans for the next year. In 2025, I let go of more of my blogging and turned my blog into more of a web site. A Harris hawk flies at the raptor release at the Arizona-Sonoran Desert Museum…

Rich people really are clueless about how most healthcare is in the US. (see comments in OG post) What I remember about our health crisis while visiting Scotland is how surprised we were that the ambulance was free, and also how money or insurance was not mentioned at the A&E.
The UK is very different from Medicare. In Medicare you can mostly go to a specialist of your choice. Not in the UK

This is how most UHC works. Will Americans be ok with this change to Medicare ?

I tried this in Notepad and it worked. What I found interesting was that the redacted part that Notepad showed did not identify anyone. Did they simply redact some parts at random?
All right people so literally I downloaded one of the government documents to Books on my iPad. I highlighted some text that was not redacted and it included some that was redacted and I copied it over to notes and I pasted it and you can see everything unredacted.

I had a great dream last night - I was a major bad-ass and kicked the crap out of an ICE agent and rescued some people. Maybe I should take some kung fu lessons because that was one fun dream.

Here's a view that I haven't seen before, possibly due to tree losses from Hurricane Helene last year. I think that it is Table Rock. This was the third year that I've attended Edwina Bringle's fiber art retreat at Wildacres Retreat near Little Switzerland, NC. I've fallen in love with this area (and Edwina). It broke my heart when Hurricane Helene devastated so much here last year just after I left.

Oh yes and he speaks entirely in burps.

So.
I know the real concern is the lack of journalistic integrity but I think the real crime here is seeing this face and thinking to yourself "yes I need more of that" His eyes don't even line up. This is a clear case of royals inbreeding
