Our junior has been in Corpus Christi at a state theater convention since Friday. Over the weekend she was in a competition where she performed a monologue. Found out today she missed advancing to Nationals by ONE POINT. Heartbroken for her but also exceedingly proud that she performed so well.

This is personal to me. Our fourth grader has dysgraphia, generalized anxiety disorder, and is on the verge of an ADHD diagnosis. Without her 504 Plan accommodations, minor in comparison to some, navigating school is like driving a car with two flat tires and expecting to win a race.

Also, it’s Friday, and Halloween. Everyone is ordering pizza before they go trick or treating.

Apparently it was ten years ago today my wife and I started doing coordinated Halloween costumes. Occasionally the girls would cooperate and join the theme with us. Here’s a recap of the fun. Can’t show this year’s choice until tonight.
