I gotta say I don't think these signs are going to get through to voters who have no idea what Prop 1 or the Housing Trust Fund are. Most probably won't know if the sign wants them to vote for or against housing

Both council races look like toss-ups to me. I don't necessarily get why anyone would be particularly mobilized to support anyone in those races anyway. I don't think there's a tremendous difference in what is to be gained by electing one candidate or the other.

"There is so much about the draft papers that have caused some who’ve seen it to privately complain that it reads like openly fascist European rantings from the first half of the 20th century."

Zeteo scoop on a "bonkers" national security strategy draft:
Trump’s Unpublished National Security Strategy Is Stephen Miller’s Far-Right Wet Dream
The president’s new national-security draft document rants against migration and cultural “erasure” – and endorses far-right political parties abroad, sources tell Zeteo.

Ask any local politician about housing policy and they will emphasize moving people from renting to homeownership as their top goal. But really that is just moving people from "severely cost burdened" status to "house poor" www.nola.com/news/busines...

This is a newspaper that published numerous stories about a 17 year old from Uganda checking a box on a college form that said “African American”
The emails that you’re seeing now are news in themselves, but that’s because of how they’re coming out—a congressional committee released them—& the context in which they’re being viewed. A guy emailing a reporter talking about old girlfriends or saying someone is “dirty” is not a whole news story.

Google has now admitted that they will tap into users' personal data within Gmail and Drive in order for their upcoming AI search to "be more helpful".

For years, Google has advertised their services as "encrypted" and "secure", which begs the question: are they really?

A US Navy destroyer is a weapons platform for anti-state operations. It carries things like Tomahawk missiles, which are about 18 feet long and 3,000 pounds. Destroyers—and carrier groups—are not the sort of military hardware one uses against nonstate actors like narcotics trafficking organizations.
The US Navy destroyer USS Stockdale is now 50 km off the coast of Venezuela.

Larry Summers mocking women's IQs reminds me that I've never met a reliably intelligent misogynist. They may be smart, but anyone who actually believes men are better is clearly so skewed in terms of basic, objective observation that every conclusion they make is immediately questionable.

This has gotten lost: Abigail Spanberger won big after vowing to RESCIND Glenn Youngkin's executive order directing local cooperation with ICE and voting AGAINST the anti-immigrant Laken Riley Act. Yet she gained bigly with working class.

I just want to point out the emerging pattern of, like, every elite political or institutional figure in American life being implicated in this is the very thing that guarantees nothing will come of it.
Every single time! Epstein will write:

"porsecters h4arrsed me w/ sbuopenas al bcuase tr4ificing myners .due porcess much???no"

and then there's, like, the former president of a university or white house counsel or something replying:

"You're totally right, and also I love you with all my heart."
