It's cool how we keep proving over and over and over again that there's a significant market for narrative-heavy, character-driven, single-player experiences in video games and publishers just categorically refuse to believe us

Last week, Rockstar was accused of firing over 30 people for engaging in union activity.

In a statement to Bloomberg (and subsequently Game Developer), Rockstar owner Take-Two said those workers were fired for "gross misconduct."

Today, an IWGB rep told me there is no evidence that was the case.

People are not lying about what happens when you do this. I've had five kids so far take potatoes and three take apples.

A lot of the business failures of the games industry are really rooted in this desire to create a product that dominates the market. The recent Amazon thing really highlights that: they wanted to create a product that outperformed Steam, but they didn't understand Steam or what the audience wanted.

That old saw about the goose that lays golden eggs seems really apt here. They're slaughtering these geese wholesale, trying to probe their innards for the gold-making mechanism. Even when they see it, they don't recognize it and they don't value it.

The UK is swiftly positioning itself to become a pariah state, entirely outside of international human rights norms, and we will deserve any and all consequences of that positioning.

I see the "The Greens are damaging Labour" narrative has started after Labour's slide in the polls. Labour, in it's current form, is no longer fit for purpose. People have every right to look to alternatives.

How can there be purpose or soul in a game that you immediately start remaking to the audience's whims because it didn't sell well? That "art" is severely compromised. Better to start anew, or work from more open-ended sketches and use Early Access for testing ideas and better balancing.

cannot really explain to non-Brits how funny it is that this country has artificially developed an entire economy around a triangle of cities in the lowest quarter of the nation and then keeps failing to connect two of those three cities
