In fact, B&N has been expanding rather a bit recently; their sales are up and they've refreshed their stores. And independent books stores have been growing in numbers too! It's been quite a turnaround for brick and mortar bookstores in the last couple of years. I hope it lasts.
I'm more shocked they're still opening new B&Ns.

Made the mistake of looking up typical glasses prescriptions and oh, I am Very nearsighted.

About to email my pathetic house rep that every time he sends me an email talking about how committed he is to bipartisanship, I’m donating 100 bucks to a primary challenger.

Well, it's a little clearer now why billionaires are so invested in technology that produces better written emails.

Thinking about the time they let Fermi secretly build the world's first nuclear reactor under the fully populated city of Chicago for some godforsaken reason, and then also a particle accelerator.

We have spent the last 4 days screaming about how the Dem leadership needs to go because they betrayed us; do you think any of us are feeling generous toward them if they raped children
"This could take down Democrats, too."

I know. And I frankly wouldn't give even an itty bitty damn if it implicated every Democratic man in Congress, every Democratic hopeful for 2028 and every Democrat who has even thought about running for office.

Down with the sex predators, wherever they are.

As all this disgusting Epstein shit starts surfacing more and more, I hope we don't lose sight of the fact that apparently every major media outlet knew everything and instead spent their time money and energy attacking the trans community.

Got 44 bucks from a Patreon settlement.

I don't even remember what Patreon did anymore, but hey, there's dinner.

Fucking Gmail. Not even some private server or anything.

All this talk about The Dark Web and they're just talking about it on fucking Gmail
the biggest lesson from the emails today is that powerful people are so unafraid of consequences for crimes as bad as “raping children” that they will just talk about it openly in emails

the only path to a better society is one where that is no longer true

We have a term for this: GenX

(I say this as a member of of GenX, please do note. But christ we are a fucked up cohort some vastly more than others but yikes)
We gotta have a clear term for people so cynical they become gullible.

ever since I learned about three-cueing I've developed infinitely more patience for replies on social media. mfers literally do not know how to read. people are walking around conjuring random meanings into words they don't know, and they don't know a lot of words. it's crazy

San Diego, but I’m not sure that was actually San Diego’s fault.

Somehow it does not surprise me that people who self-identify themselves as "thought leadership writers" are the heaviest users of the flattery, sycophancy, and plagiarism software?
“The report found that the heaviest AI users are thought leadership writers (84%), PR/comms professionals (73%), and content marketing writers (73%).”

How can you be a thought leader when you don’t think? Fraud. Scam. Grift and nonsense!

I’m just saying that there are a lot of non-violent and non-felony ways to make people so miserable that they will beg for it to stop
We gave them the victories they’ve been asking for and they turned around and gave up as soon as it was convenient. The carrot days of the Democratic base are over. Time for the stick. They’re not afraid enough of us. We can fix that (with votes).
November 10, 2025 at 3:57 AM
The Dems are really unclear as a party how violently close the electorate is to just ripping the government out like an infected tooth and replacing it.

That's why we HAVE these fuckers in charge. Because people were sick of nothing happening, and now we have fascism happening, but it's SOMETHING.
I'm real real close to feeling like we can't ever know who these 8 took the fall for, so maybe we should just throw them all out and start from scratch.

You know, I've never heard about another government jsut randomly shutting down like this, but I never thought about it, and it easily could have been Amero-centrism at work.

But oh my God. This really is an option.
Did you know that in Canada, if a budget doesn’t pass the government doesn’t shut down?

Federal workers aren’t furloughed.

Funding for social services doesn’t dry up.

Failure to pass a budget triggers an election.

It puts the politicians jobs on the line.

They get the budget passed.
