I think we have to understand that the administration’s hostility to trans people is an attack on the freedom of all Americans to determine their own identities. If you care about your own freedom, you have an interest in making sure all Americans are treated with dignity and respect.

i am going to put a finer point on this: executive orders are not laws. and they certainly are not royal decrees. they are interpretations of existing law for the purposes of enforcement. the fact that so many people are treating them as laws is actually driving me a bit insane.
i mean, the president's executive order isn't a goddamn law! as far as this doctor is concerned, who cares what the president says!

I think it's important to say that these are not "budget cuts" at NIH and NSF. If they want to cut the next budget, they should talk to Congress. This is withholding money that's already authorized.

A helpful thing to remember, or at least it has been for me: in hard times, there will be discrete moments—maybe lots of them—where you experience love and joy and community. It is no sin to enjoy them, and arguably more of one to refuse them.

I’ve been sick, and my co-parent legit picked up the slack so I could actually rest for 3 full days (with no school). This should be the rule, not the exception. Bonus points because he isn’t resentful, and I trusted he’d ask for any help he needed #parenting #equalpartnership #fairplay

Well this DOES make me feel better. It doesn’t mean there won’t be a fight, but I’ve been feeling confused about this all day.
I’m seeing a lot of confusion about the Equal Rights Amendment online.
I've been working on the ERA for 13 years & literally wrote a book about it.
