Congress and state legislatures must make this practice illegal. We should not be automatically enrolled in the violation of our privacy by these tech companies. Features like this should only be enabled after clear, informed, fully free consent—not via default settings.
If you use GMail, AI (Gemini) was turned on yesterday by default and now scans all of your content for machine learning. To turn off, go to Settings>General and scroll down. Uncheck the box for "Smart features."

There's other "Smart" add-ons as well, but that's the one that reads your content.

After reaching out to some people, it appears to be a phishing scam from over the weekend and they've already shut down the account. DO NOT OPEN IT if the email is from the last 48 hours!
I got an Docusign email with attachment from the managing editor of Oni Press that got caught in my spam. The email address looks legitimate, so either I got someone else's email by mistake, someone is doing a good job impersonating an official Oni Press email, or his account got hacked.

Indianapolis residents have shut down a proposed Google data center.

The tech giant wanted to build a massive 500 acre facility, but people got organized and stopped them.

The $1 billion data center would've used one million gallons of water a day.

Again, this was under Biden.

The same administration that was helping Israel sell oil licenses for land/sea that belonged to Palestine for at LEAST a year before 10/7
This journalist, Sam Husseini, just confirmed on Twitter that zero news outlets have reached out to him after being forcibly removed from this press conference.

a lot to point out in this article--how surrogacy is a $5B industry, how only NY requires agencies to be licensed, how surrogacy is >3x riskier, how buyers do not have to disclose their medical history--but my main q is how someone like cindy bi was allowed to enter into this process at all.

Surrogate pregnancies are increasingly popular in tech circles, and the practice is expected to explode globally in the coming decade. It’s also shockingly unregulated. This is a story about what happens when it goes horribly wrong.
