emailing my useless Tory MP tonight to condemn his party leader's statement this morning re Venezuela. If you want language to crib from to email your own Tory MP, here's what I said:
![Hi [MP Name]
I am writing this evening to let you know that I find the statement released by your party leader regarding the illegal incursion by the United States government into Caracas to kidnap President Maduro and his wife this morning to be deplorable.
40 people were killed during this illegal act that contravenes the UN Charter, to which Canada is a signatory. Condemnation of this act of aggression against Venezuela by the Americans is not only the correct response, it is the necessary response. There is no justification for a world power to invade another country, kidnap their leader and spirit them away to an undisclosed location in the dead of night. It is especially repugnant to read your party leader's statement of congratulations and support in light of knowing that 40 Venezuelans were murdered overnight to accomplish this act.
I am appalled that the leader of the opposition party in the federal government would so gleefully support this undermining of international law and order.

you don't need to add caveats agreeing that the head of state abducted is a bad guy before opposing abduction of a head of state by military force. If the rule was any head of government is fair game then the entire world would be a series of decapitation strikes and show trials in foreign courts.
