This is a pretty amazing transformation in Midtown Atlanta: it's the view of West Peachtree Street, looking north from 10th Street. The first one is from today and the second one is from 2012. We're having a nice MARTA/walking adventure in this glorious weather.

the ideal non-playoff bowl game is two teams with a combined 15 wins scoring over 80 points while a brand puts on a three-hour bacchanalia
Pop tarts bowl exec: thrilled for this new partnership, love the energy of college football, we barely have to even try to sell it, much less tap into the dark ancient primordial human need to kill in order to glorify the merciless gods

Can’t reply, but that’s probably a capacitor. It can be replaced with enough gumption and a soldering iron.
Was ready to enter my analog, physical media era with my over 20-year-old Sanyo stereo recovered from the in-laws attic. Plugged it in, immediately there was a *POP* followed by smoke, coming out the back. Do people still repair these things (I hope so)?

I’ve been helping my brother with his transition out of the army, as well as watching my year group cohort do the same as they retire.

DOD needs to reset expectations about how a mil career requires WORK to start a comparable civilian career - lest their struggles further impact recruiting.
This person means well, they're not a villain.

They're just absolutely wrong.

Very little of what you pick up in the military is valuable in the private sector. It's not a zero transition, but "show up on time" and "bring a pen" is not a career, either.

If you're transitioning, re-skill hard.

We'll be fine. Most won't leave. And the few who will, will not move their entire businesses out of CA. And the few businesses that will won't stop selling into CA because it's still where the market is, and our income tax is based on that. So, let's do it.
“income inequality increased over a 33-year period ending in 2022, with the share of wealth held by families in the top 10 percent at around 69 percent, while the share held by families in the bottom 50 percent at just 3 percent.”

In an age of AI slop, humans with elite skills will become ten times more coveted
We’re already seeing luxury brands reject AI, since luxury is all about exclusionary signaling, which is a good sign that the public is experiencing slop fatigue w/r/t Generative AI ‘design’.

We’ll see a lot more of this in 2026 I think.

Bluesky team, please reach out (after the holidays) so we can find a solution!
