The officer who shot Alex worked for DHS for 8 years. The officer who shot Renee worked for DHS for over 10 years. Both are considered “highly trained.”

I went to a small (30 people?) vigil in my neighborhood park tonight. Neighbors working together to start a fire, sharing cookies and cocoa, and holding space for Alex Pretti. And it made me feel a little better. A little more sane. A little less hopeless.
