![Excerpt from article: "The praise heaped upon a student who interrupted a class lecture to announce that she was personally offended by the instructor’s views on gender and who then proceeded to push to have that instructor fired is an illuminating contrast to the widespread vilification and punishment of college and graduate students who have protested external speakers on the basis of their views on gender. For example, students who protested a speech by a lawyer from the extreme anti-LGBTQ+ organization Alliance Defending Freedom at Yale Law School were accused of imposing a “heckler’s veto”; they were mocked, denounced, and “canceled” from consideration as clerks by several prominent, conservative federal judges. Stanford Law School students who disrupted a speech by a far-right conservative federal judge, Kyle Duncan, were similarly lambasted for their “intolerance” and similarly excluded for consideration for federal clerkships by conservative judges. These incidents have been frequently cited as examples of “snowflake students” trying to shut down discussion of topics they find personally offensive or unpleasant. In 2016, the founder of the Heritage Foundation described liberal students who protested conservative speakers as both “little snowflakes demand[ing] ‘safe spaces’ where they can be protected from words” and the “little dictators” of the campus. No one, however, has accused the anonymous Texas A&M student of being a “little dictator,” despite her hysterical and erroneous assertion that a viewpoint she found offensive—presented in a classroom setting by an expert on the subject being taught— was “illegal” and her announcement that she would be reporting the professor to the administration for that reason. The podcasts @ifbookspod.bsky.social & The Devil You Know changed the way I think about books that try to explain adolescent psychology. From the focus on the tragic story of 1 person, to blaming it all on the internet), to the overuse of the hosts name, it all reeks of BS to me now.

Shockingly, this bill would have failed were it not for the 3 Democrat defections.
Just now, a national trans healthcare felony ban for youth has passed the US House, with 10 year prison terms.
3 Dems crossed party lines to vote to jail providers.
4 GOP crossed party lines to vote against.
It is not expected to pass the Senate, where Dems hold filibuster power.

one of the funnier aspects to the AI backlash is the fact that they're negatively polarizing much of the tech enthusiast demographic against them by making hobbyist PC building functionally unaffordable
Just so I'm clear on this, computer memory has tripled in price because a bunch of it that hasn't been produced yet has been ordered to populate GPUs that aren't installed in data centers that aren't built yet in order to service a demand that doesn't exist to make profits that don't happen.
