I think that people should read Bright's thread because there are a number of good points made. We're not all going to agree on each point but it's good & essential to have an ongoing discussion about these matters. These conversations usually happen within organizations.

i think jesse jackson was one of the most important american political figures of the post-war era and i think that his 1984 and 1988 campaigns for the democratic nomination still have a great deal to teach about forging a path to a more egalitarian world. RIP.
