The thing is, the right wing has been stark bollock naked since the French revolution and yet we've spent the intervening centuries acting like they have a disagreement about tax rates instead of profound neurological damage and we don't know what politics that recognises this would look like.
A lot of British "patriots" siding with a hostile foreign leader who has declared economic war on their country.

A hostile foreign leader who is now looking for anything he can do to damage Britain - because he wants to steal Greenland.

You have all been totally exposed.

The British equivalent of shooting Renee Good in the face is going to be some primary school teacher getting hounded into suicide by a relentless campaign by the press for publicly saying she doesn't think Muslims are all rapists.
Broadly think this analysis is right. The Treasury will prevent a true British ICE from forming, their intransigence over spending any money is the one ideological consistency in UK gov. We're going to get much more in the line of arbitrary vigilantism and screaming press monstering.
Unsettling sociological question I've started to mull: who would work for a British 'ICE'? I'm sure there is a sizeable faction of resentful young men out there who are disgusted with how 'woke' the police have become, but its hard right now to imagine them joining the 'public sector' in any form.

If being disrespectful warranted murder, the world would be rid of conservatives
Q: "Do you believe that deadly force was necessary?"

Trump: "It was highly disrespectful of law enforcement. The woman and her friend were highly disrespectful of law enforcement…Law enforcement should not be in a position where they have to put up with this stuff."

If I was the commander in chief of the Imperial hegemon I would simply not dismantle the network of military and diplomatic alliances, favourable trade deals, and broad cultural paramountcy that had made my nation the most wealthy and powerful the world has ever seen.

The rise of Trump has given them permission to be what they always wanted to be and to behave how they always wanted to behave. His entire sales pitch is: you don’t have to pretend any more, you can just say “I’m glad the cops, who represent me, are beating and killing people I hate”.

One of the reasons he's so disliked, imo, is the constant wide eyed, wounded innocence thing where they have no idea why being such gleefully sadistic shites wouldn't go down well with people.
Glad the FT is asking the question. Even if I’m not convinced they found a compelling answer.
I get that Starmer & Reeves are unpopular, I really don’t understand the extent of the dislike.

The Express is furious about this because the moment you show those who repeat anti-immigration rhetoric the real human stories their narrative collapses.

The “immigrants” are people. Our friends, colleagues and family.

And it’s this nation of neighbours that is what makes Britain great.

This correct, and almost none of it is organically arising from the public. The relentless fear and hate of the last decade was deliberately imposed by opportunist politicians, toxic media outlets, crackpot activists and malignant squillionaires, working hand in hand towards similar goals.
There is absolutely nothing left to the UK but bigotry and spite. A hateful place, you can almost taste it in the air, makes it hard to breathe.
Seems there has been some co-ordination.

the hardest part of writing politically charged fiction is that a good villain needs to be complex, cool and about as right as the protagonist; while evil people in real life are lame, cruel, childish morons motivated by greed or not wanting to look at minorities

what is it that makes the fascists of today different from yesterday? who are they? why do they seem to love america so much? the answer is, ANGLOFASCISM. The answer is in Britain and in Austria and in Engelbert Dolfuss. lets learn
ANGLOFASCISM
In 1933, Austrian chancellor Engelbert Dolfuss, a short, generally unpopular man, founded a political party. Out of right-wing militias, traditional conservative parties, and landed estates, he put together an organisation called the Fatherland Front, which ruled the tiny, dysfunctional Republic of Austria (rechristened the Federal State of Austria) for five years until 1938, when Dolfuss’s successor Schuschnigg was removed from office during the Nazi…
