This is a terrible idea that's going to lead to the government using our money to pay private groups to engage in racial profiling and abuse.

Then they can use corporate structure to never face meaningful consequences.
NEW: ICE had initially planned a limited pilot program to hire bounty hunters and private investigators for immigrant tracking.

The agency has now scrapped that plan and is going all-in, removing the program’s spending cap and offering up to $280M to any given contractor.

The problem with this article is they asked too many lawyers and not enough historians.

As a historian, I'd say the legality of Trump's immunity and pardons depends on how he leaves office.

At 40 over 55 approval? He's immune.

At 25 over 65? He's probably not immune & self-pardons aren't legal.
