Happy new year! My all sky camera imaged the sky every 15 seconds and this picture shows what happened in the sky in 2025. It shows the length of the night and day with the hourglass shape, the monthly lunar cycle with the diagonal bands, the elevation of the Sun at local noon, and lots of clouds.

Finished this one up after some reworking. 👌 The watercolors got too dark and heavy, so I ran the painting under water and scrubbed a lot of it off, but ended up really liking the softer ghosted look that resulted. I went over the line art again with walnut ink and called it done.

Attacking a data center like it’s The Bastille, everyone fleeing with a bushels of RAM to desolder and resolder the chips. One peasant coded guy with a wheelbarrow of SFP+ modules. Manifesting this for 2026.

Find the thing that fixes you and make it true ♥️
Here’s the report from nine months later: I decided that this did, in fact, fix me, and every time I worry now that something will happen in the future because it once happened in the past, I think, “no, that’s not true, because now I’ve eaten the Train Bento That Fixed Me.” This works every time.
This is going to fix me.

Hello #ArtSky, #BookSky, and related skies! I've got a book for an art show coming out in January, can anyone offer me some advice on how to handle preorders for the open?

If you see items in a black box like this on the Amazon app (presumably similar on desktop), do NOT use Amazon to purchase. Go to the artist's site directly to see what they actually have, buy more easily, and not support this garbage concept that big corps can scrape whatever they want.

As we enter the New Year remember fear of making bad art is holding you back. Fear of people not liking your work is holding you back. Rejection is holding you back

You'll make bad art, you'll have people not like your work, and you'll be rejected. Moving past it is half the job of being a creative

The challenge is people find deep thinking uncomfortable. AI doesn't just replace thinking, it soothes that discomfort. It's less a tool and more a cognitive sedative. A comfort blanket for the brain. Feels great to externalise all that thinking. Too great! That’ll be a hard habit to kick for many.
Boiling here at home in Cyprus but I put the finishing touches a couple of days ago on this preprint: What Does 'Human-Centred AI' Mean? doi.org/10.48550/arX...

Wherein I analyse HCAI & demonstrate through 3 triplets my new tripartite definition of AI (Table 1) that properly centres the human. 1/n

If someone says to you, "what are you doing about students' use of AI?" ask them, "do you think that this should be my problem? How good do you think my response can be? Should it not be up to legislators & administrators to defend against a commercial industry's attack on your child's education?"
