Schumer's done.
Every time you capitulate to a bully, they'll come back at you twice as brutally.

If you didn't learn this life lesson in third grade, GTFO of the US Senate.

Tonight’s Senate vote on the federal government shutdown should have been a time for strength.

Instead we saw capitulation and a betrayal of working Americans.

The American people need more from their leaders.

3/3. Three of these senators – Fetterman, Cortez Masto and King – have voted with Republicans to begin floor debate on the funding bill since the shutdown began. They need to voted out. And shame on Tim Kaine!

2/3 The Democrats voting to reopen the government were:
Dick Durbin (Ill.)
Jeanne Shaheen (N.H.)
Maggie Hassan (N.H.)
Jackie Rosen (Nev.)
Catherine Cortez Masto (Nev.)
John Fetterman (Pa.)
Tim Kaine (Va.)
Angus King (I-Maine), who caucuses with Democrats

1/3. I personally believe the Dems were closer to success than they realized. Seven of them betrayed their constituents. The R’s have reneged before and they will again, because, in their aura of unfettered power, they Don’t Give A Damn.

The fact a *single* Amazon full-time employee requires SNAP benefits should be a crime. The fact Amazon is the largest employer of SNAP recipients is a disgrace. Jeff Bezos shouldnt be that rich; he should be in jail.

ICE violently detained a Virginia mother driving her daughter to school because she couldn’t recite her Social Security number from memory. “When she stumbled, the agent just lunged at her,” said her 16 yo. She showed her work permit, SS card, license, registration:ICE arrested her anyway.

There is more than enough funding for SNAP. The Trump administration is using food insecurity as a political weapon.

House Dems are in the Capitol trying to restore our healthcare, and most are voluntarily going without pay during this shutdown. House Repubs are absent and ARE drawing their salary, giving themselves a paid vacation while their constituents suffer.

BREAKING: Democrats just tried to pass a standalone bill to fund WIC & SNAP to make sure families don't go hungry during the Republican shutdown.

Republicans BLOCKED it. So Trump won't use emergency funds to keep SNAP running, and Republicans won't let any bills pass. Shameful.

Today, Mike Johnson will keep the House adjourned for the 85th day out of the last 97.

12 days of work in over 3 months.

With full pay and benefits.

The senate has been working, so this is not about the shutdown.

It is about avoiding a vote to release the Epstein files.

Our military is being paid by an anonymous donor.

Our WH East Wing was demolished for a ballroom - paid for by donors.

These aren’t acts of benevolence or patriotism.

This is the oligarchy assuming control, insidiously becoming part of how we function.

Every American should reject it.
