An incident in a locker room has always been key to Riley Gaines’ anti-trans fame.

But @msjpauly.bsky.social spoke to swimmers who were present at the same 2022 meet. They shared a very different narrative.
How right-wing superstar Riley Gaines built an anti-trans empire
The swimmer tied a trans woman for fifth. The MAGA industrial complex took care of the rest.

Baby girl and I went for a hike this morning, on trails she's never been on, in a city she only moved to a few days ago, and she lived up to her dam's reputation of babies who take everything in stride.

I agree that people who want to gamble should be forced to physically marinate in cigarette smoke and a lingering ambience of body odor and shame to do so
If gambling can’t be banned outright, it should be regulated so you can’t do it online. You should have to do it the old way, go to a dirty storefront in the worst part of town with all the other losers and hand over cash to an old guy with a layer of visible crust all over his skin.

Whole lot of people were telling us feds that the RIF reversal in the CR was meaningless because Vought wouldn't comply don't seem to have acting to say about the memo that went out this morning from OPM

It is not a coincidence that the Nevada and Virginia delegations voted for the deal. The major federal employee unions (AFGE, NFFE, NTEU) were no longer supporting the shutdown. And this bill reverses and blocks the illegal RIFs.

I'm going to say this just once and then step away:

Any federal government shutdown falls on the backs of federal employees. We are the ones without paychecks going on a month.

I want every person who calls this a "cave" to ask themselves if they'd be willing to skip a month's pay for this.

i am so very sorry but marta can never retire, 95th minute in a playoff quarterfinal clinging to a 1 goal lead and she uses every ounce of energy she had left to sprint damn near the whole pitch and win a late penalty, then gives the spot kick to luana. i'm over here just being a puddle of emotions.

It's not just that fifa do a lot of bribery or that they're good at it, though both of those things are true. It's how much they enjoy it. They like the results, of course, but they like the thing itself. Recreationally corrupt. In a kind of flow state of bentness.
this is actually impressive, making up a brand new nobel peace prize replacement is a genuine innovation in bribery

absolutely nobody does corruption like FIFA
the first what now

Everyone should see white sands! We don't let the general public see the trackways (sorry, but also they're ephemeral anyways), but the team down there does amazing research and sci comm, the 3d printed models of the megafauna prints ARE something visitors can see, and it's just a special place.
Human footprints at White Sands have been dated to 23,000 to 20,000 years ago, really fascinating evidence of even earlier human arrival in the Americas www.science.org/doi/10.1126/...

Why would I need a tortilla press when there is a tortilla factory in my town? And my griddle does just fine making crepes. Otherwise, yeah, I have an overflowing drawer of kitchen towels. I have a disposable pepper grinder. I have an electric kettle. But I bought all these things in the US.
🙄
If you call them "tea towels" a lot of Americans who have cotton kitchen towels will have no idea what you're talking about. My grandmother called em "flour sack towels" after the material from which they were made in her childhood.
This article is interesting mainly for blowing your mind as to how Americans don’t use the most basic of kitchen items like tea towels, a kettle, a pepper mill, etc 🤯

Realized I have not yet introduced bsky to The Bitch yet, despite leasing her for a little bit now. She's a big mare who throws fits to hide the fact that she's a giant scaredy cat, but we are working on that with lots and lots of solo adventure trail rides.
