it is no commentary on the legitimacy of others' preferences re: pregnancy or parenting to ask that people be a little considerate of those who are trying or have long tried to become pregnant, who want children and as yet cannot have them, in these conversations

Lars Eller's line got the easy matchup of the night, against the Canucks third line, and they crushed it.

Leafs were down 4-1 late in the third and just decided to pack it in completely, huh.

Logan Mailloux (cheap one-year extension with St Louis) has played thirty-nine games of defensively dreadful hockey. He also made his team take a lot of penalties. You could make up for those things with some other positive attributes, but he does not.

Everytime I feel sad about how I don't have proper data for some great player, I think fondly about the future when I get to tell young hockey fans about Sidney Crosby.
I don't have any of the really fun parts of Sergei Fedorov's career, but I do have his final two seasons with Columbus. The offence is nothing special but the defence is !!.

The Wings people have been banging on about it for a while now, but it's striking how good Moritz Seider has been this year for Detroit. This is with 13% DZ / 9% OZ usage in his minutes.

(Mathematical art, I guess.)

Phase-shifting the Fourier transform of a regular 14-gon. Or equivalently: seven plane waves meeting at equal angles.

One time I tried to explain this extremely specific cold-climate pleasure to a student who had just moved to nova scotia from somewhere much warmer and they looked at me like I was absolutely out of my mind.
Here is a video of a frozen creek that had begun to thaw, and the water was flowing beneath the thin ice on top. I took this because it was soothing and wonderfully bloopy and I wanted to listen to it for hours. You are all welcome to enjoy it, too. Let your brain settle here and rest for a moment.
