People are over-reading this. The judge dismissed the *federal* murder charges because his (alleged) actions didn’t fit within federal law. He still faces *state* murder charges because it’s usually a state crime. The feds stepped in because they were mad NY doesn’t have the death penalty.

This, and the best time to start if you haven't already is tomorrow. I'm doing the Friends of the Library thing but there are zillions of increasingly crucial Friends groups popping up everywhere. It also conveniently skirts the sometimes offputting bureaucracy involved with gov work
This is giving me flashbacks to refugee support in Greece -- everybody was imagining themselves out on the beaches helping people off the boats, but a jillion other things needed to be done too! Like how are you going to give ppl dry clothes if no one has sorted all the clothes first.
I keep seeing posts going "when ICE comes to MY city, we'll be out in the streets even harder" and man, I get that sentiment but I need everyone to understand that the work in Minneapolis is partly confrontational but MORE IMPORTANTLY aaallll the stuff organized in the background to help neighbors
