“DHS is shutting down because it refuses to obey the law” is excellent framing
DHS is shutting down because it refuses to obey the law. They are tear-gassing schools, killing American citizens, and disappearing legal immigrants. Democrats shouldn’t fund an out of control ICE.

Hmm ICE lying. Shocking. I mean they’ve never done that before…
“Our affiant lied, of course, and we have now learned there’s video to contradict him.”

Criminality is so rampant inside CBP that it has seen one of its own agents or officers arrested every 24 to 36 hours since 2005.

The gestapo (theoretically) leaving with their tails tucked between their legs is NOT the same as returning our neighbors, fixing our communities, paying serious reparations, and making sure those fuckers face justice for their crimes. But, boy does this feel (cautiously optimistically) good

We need to stop calling it “Move fast and break stuff.”

“Move fast and break society.” Is more accurate.

This is the second account - the first being in Chicago - of DHS agents mass detaining people and then *sorting them by race*.
More than 400 people, including hundreds of citizens, were “sorted” at gun point into racial and ethnic groups by 200 ICE agents who fired flash-bang grenades into cars with people inside, pointed guns at children & demanded their zip tied parents not comfort them. apple.news/Ausdx6kWtT0e...

Yes. Google search has gotten so enshittiffied that we should boil the oceans so we never have to use it again.

Well the first part of that sentence is dead on. Not sure I agree with the conclusion though.
I am constantly forced to confront this at various media gatherings (at one today!) and people still talk about it mythically, hype up edge cases, and when I ask regular AI users how it has dramatically changed their everyday life they say “it’s replaced Google for me,” because it summarizes Google.

The most likely scenario
Maybe take seriously the idea that the people at the levers of implementation will try it even if it's *not actually any good*.

One of every thousand American residents has been taken into custody by ICE in the last year.
A stunning detail the ICE chief shared in this hearing that was supposed to be a brag, except it isn't: ICE has arrested 379,000 people between Jan. 2025-Jan. 2026 -- but only 8,700 were suspected gang members or known suspected terrorists.

That's 2%! www.huffpost.com/entry/latest...
