Bezos burning the Washington post to the ground is as firm a reason for the continued bbc licence as ever there was. Eventually everything that can be owned by a billionaire will be owned by a billionaire and at that point its future will be determined by the whims of a man making 166k per minute.

one thing that would be cool, when prominent creators turn out to be terrible people, would be if we didn't have to go through this performative dance of insisting that their work was never good in the first place.

This is the quote he's referring to and damned if every one of us who's worked in traditional tv prior to the streaming era isn't silently screaming in frustration right now. TV worked perfectly well before everyone tried to become GoT

Couldn't help but be uproarious at a Catherine O'Hara performance, from first seeing her as Lydia, the iconically manic pretentious artist in Beetlejuice, right up to her starring in The Studio just last year.

Seems poignant now that I saw her last in I Like Me, a film memorializing John Candy. RIP

In life David Lynch was known widely for being the absolute king of weird beard arthouse filmmakers. In death, he is known mostly for his kindness, work ethic, and just being an all around rad person that made films HIS way. And I absolutely love that. What a legacy.

Rest in peace, king.

Just a reminder that you've never seen a Calvin & Hobbes animated movie or cartoon is because Bill Watterson didn't want to give Hobbes a voice so he could always live inside your head exactly the way you imagined him. And to this day you have no idea who he ever has voted for. But you can guess.
