Imagine if some Cork FF TD said they'd move to Dublin if they lost. Their children would disown them. Even the unborn ones.

From 21st July 2025, Ireland’s regulator will be enforcing age checks at the door for social media sites.

Recording who comes in.

Or requiring sites to apply not one but TWO separate content bans.

One of which is material deemed likely to “impair the physical, mental or moral development”

We now return you to your regular broadcasting.

Recently saw a guy talking about how he got out of the incel/MRA pipeline, and he said is that nobody offered advice to men, nobody took men's concerns seriously, which is what made them vulnerable to toxic influencers.

Except feminists have been taking those concerns seriously for decades.
The mythopoetic "Iron John" masculinity of the 1990s falls into this trap as well. They'd have been better off reading bell hooks
Most men have defined masculinity as not-feminine.

This means that the more women expand their abilities and interests once the domain of men, these men then have to more narrowly define their masculinity.

Soon all that’s left is just the toxic parts.

English speakers that accept the pronunciation of names like Anaïs and Thibault because they know that despite using a similar alphabet they're French language names but can't grasp the same logic for Irish language names like Siobhán or Eoghan or Caoilfhionn are the worst type of willful eejits.

Thank you. Yes. All of this.

There's a tendency in certain circles to say "oh Elon was always a Nazi you just didn't notice," and, no.

I used to spend a lot of time watching how people go from alienated to MAGA to outright Nazi.

I've written about it.

And that is the trajectory of Elon.
Elon Musk is a good example of how terrible people become increasingly radicalized into the far right simply because the far right is a community that accepts cruel, terrible people.

It's tempting to say Elon is going "mask off", but I'd wager Elon didn't know who Tommy Robinson was 5 years ago. 1/

the progression of AIDS treatment in my lifetime, from how terrifying it was as a child in the 80s to stories like this 40-odd years later, is genuinely one of the human race’s most awe-inspiring scientific achievements. it was a nonnegotiable death sentence for SO LONG
After nearly three decades, a Minnesota summer camp for kids with HIV/AIDS is closing and up for sale... because retroviral drugs are so effective that there aren't enough campers.

Science works, y'all.

Closure of northern Minnesota camp is ‘the greatest story.’ Here’s why.

I recently did a courtesy call with an indie developer. They wanted to talk to me because their game's target audience is ... uh, me. 25-40-year-old women, many of whom are moms.

They wanted to know: what did I need to pick up a game? What would bar me from playing?

Here are some answers 🧵(1/?):
