In suggestions about activism, this may be assumed, but I thought it was useful to explicitly state: we can call our congresspeople with pre-emotive feedback. If you're good with the dems shutting down the government to stand firm on this nonsense, tell them now, ahead of time, so they know before.

When the Patriot Act was passed, libraries got requests for patrons’ borrowing history. We were prohibited from disclosing those requests.
We deleted and shredded those records and stopped tracking reading history for that reason.
