It's understandable that Dems aren't forcing Platner out of the race, since they don't have any recent object lessons in the risk of sticking by a mortally wounded candidate until it's far too late to effectively offer an alternative

In some ways there’s no more fascinating thing that has happened in the last 20 years than the pivot these guys have all made from “Islam, like Christianity, is a bunch of made up BS for losers” to “Christianity is a bunch of made up BS for losers like me, and that’s why we need to ban Muslims.”
new atheism was splintered by the wedge issue of "is islam worse than american christofascism"

I made fun of the Bulwark for interviewing Olivia Nuzzi, but I think it was actually revelatory that they asked her if she thinks she should have said something when a man hellbent on murdering children was being confirmed by the Senate and she started crying.
Today is the start of 2 days of meetings of RFK Jr.'s ACIP, where vaccines skeptics outnumber actual scientists and medial experts. Their target: the Hep B vaccine, which has a ~90-98% (after 3 doses) effectiveness rate in preventing infection for up to 30 yrs.

Doctors warn delaying hepatitis B shot for newborns could revive a deadly threat
As RFK Jr.'s new vaccine panel ponders changing the hepatitis B vaccination schedule, some doctors recall past patients, including children, who died painful deaths before there was a vaccine.

White critics and audiences seem deeply uncomfortable with marginalized creators making *art*, in my experience. They demand that such creators make Statements, which is not in fact the same thing.
There’s significant overlap, but confusing the two is a cruel mistake.
black creators of various stripes are often forced into categories so as to make them legible and (i’d say) shrink the ambitions of their work.

I saw Mr Beast set a house on fire with a guy bound and tied up inside, and then he had to escape and rescues as much cash as he could from the - again, *on fire* - house before it was all consumed by the inferno…

So… I think we’re there.
I feel at some point Mr Beast is independently going to reinvent the plot of the running man and Kalshi bets will be the reason why
Wtf are we doing?

This normalizes corruption, feeding the sentiment that both sides suck and so politics is pointless. A Dem party focused on rehabilitating its broken brand would be criticizing Trump and booting out Cuellar. Let the corrupt guys become corporate lobbyists - they’re dragging our party down.
Jeffries claims the charges against Cueller were "very thin" and says Trump's pardon was "exactly the right outcome"

It's a campaign of terror.

Her terror (and the terror of entire communities, forced into hiding) is not incidental.

It is a product they are manufacturing, a key part of the spectacle for their intended audience.

Which is the terrorized, but also the terror consumers.
Agents in Key Largo, Florida ripped this woman wearing medical scrubs out of her car as she screamed she is a US citizen. Agents cuffed her and put her in one of their cars.

She was eventually let go, per David Goodhue of the Miami Herald, who also took this footage:

Even more than the fascism and white supremacy, the very core of MAGA is the endless drive to make us accomplices in Trump's own narcissism. Their primary ideological commitment is "Trump is great" and they will attack and punish us until we, too, admit Trump is great.
SCOOP: Sources tell me Donald Trump's name was added to the exterior of the US Institute of Peace building ahead of Thursday's peace agreement signing between Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), which will be held inside the building. Confirming if it's been officially renamed.
