Imagine what this nation could be if it uplifted Black women the way Black women uplift democracy.
So proud of my hometown.
New Year, New Muslim American Mayor of NYC.

Despite facing an unprecedented barrage by billionaires, Islamophobes, GOP racists, and the Democratic establishment, Mamdani has defied all odds and ascended to becoming the 112th mayor of NYC.

The history of America — and the lifeblood of white supremacy — is racist moral panic drummed up by fascist disinformation merchants.
They are denying kids childcare and complicating parents’ lives over a racist moral panic drummed up by a fascist disinformation merchant.
The Trump administration paused child care payments to multiple Minnesota day cares following allegations that they improperly collected millions of federal dollars, the latest federal action against the state as it grapples with investigations into fraud in its social welfare system.

Even with a few bright spots, 2025 has been a year designed to leave wounds that will not heal in my lifetime, and I can't wait for it to GTFO.

Rooting for the next mayor of New York to fail is pretty disgusting stuff, but here we are.
He's not even sworn in and fucking Politico is counting him out. With journalists like Politico's and the New York Times', who needs enemies?

The Trump regime is obsessed with endangering children by any means necessary.

From her New Yorker essay: “For my whole life, I have tried to be good, to be a good student and a good sister and a good daughter, and to protect my mother and never make her upset or angry. Now I have added a new tragedy to her life, to our family’s life, and there’s nothing I can do to stop it.”

An extra blessed New Year to every person who, even at the risk of personal and financial losses, stood up and said NO to Trump's authoritarian regime.

Soon-to-be New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani has really broken these dolts' brains.
This is how Christopher Caldwell begins his essay on Zohran Mamdani for the Claremont Review of Books.

Why are these people such freaks?

The easy grace and quick forgiveness afforded to white people, no matter how vile their behavior, is absolutely stunning.

Julie K. Brown is a reporter for the Miami Herald who did groundbreaking work on Epstein beginning in 2018, including groundbreaking work on the disgusting coverup by Alex Acosta.

Her travel itinerary was released with some of the Epstein files. It appears the DOJ was monitoring her in 2019.

Looking forward to this idiocy getting dropkicked out of court — if it gets that far, which it shouldn't.

Most Black people know exactly how dangerous it is. We've never had any choice.
I don't think most Americans have any idea how dangerous it is for a president to declare an entire ethnic group to be "garbage." This is how the worst atrocities in human history have begun.

Vivek Ramaswamy is Lesson # 573,654,942 in "White supremacists will use you, but they will never accept you."
For those not following at home, “Heritage American” is a category of white supremacy covering people whose ancestors were white folks who were pioneers.

Criminals.
ICE detain father shopping on Christmas Eve—then steal his family's groceries.

Then 3 agents divvy up his paid for food—taking what they want for themselves.

"Can I just get the wife's number to call and let her know?" woman asks.

"No, guess he should've complied," agent says.

@rygraham.bsky.social is right. GOP leaders are pointing fingers at each other over *some* racism/bigotry but conveniently overlooking others. Until they denounce it all they’re just a bunch of hypocrites not fooling anyone.

When people called CECOT a concentration camp back in March, they were told to stop being dramatic and that they had no idea what they were talking about. We should now see every person who downplays this administration's atrocities as a co-conspirator.
I wrote for New York magazine about deportations to CECOT in El Salvador, which are bound up with a tradition of US extrajudicial actions in the Americas and further the long arc of concentration camps.
Trump and Bukele’s Concentration Camp
CECOT is no regular prison. It is also a warning.
