Is anyone still able to enjoy anything truly & deeply, without a substantial portion of their mind, heart, and soul in the clutches of dark existential dread? The restorative power of being in the moment, feeling joy & wild abandon — is being crushed, and I worry about resonant cumulative damage.

I am encouraged by the phenomenal scenes of resistance and support coming out of places already dealing with real conflict and oppression inflicted by our own governments and agencies. This is a phenomenal instance of communities recognizing the strength and resilience of diverse societies ❤️

It's 2016.

I am hit by a bus.

As I cross the threshold into eternity, my pineal gland unleashes a death burst of DMT into my brain.

In the ensuing elaborate hallucination, I experience two Donald Trump presidencies.

Rachel Maddow posts Crimethinc.

I suddenly realize that none of this is real

Progress on the art + culture kiosk shop: last month I formed a small group to help design the interior, going for a slim and modular upcycled approach, as the space is quite small and narrow. Really loving how it is coming together.

So many cool as hell meetings recently for the art kiosk shop…

Talking to people about: sources of amazing books — selections of intl. magazines — artists/designers displaying their works — vinyl records — interior design — regional sweets + snacks — tons more… looks on track to open in March 😅

One tiny comfort I experience as a creator right now:

Some of the richest people on the planet have poured billions into a plagiarism machine because they are so utterly desperate to be us

But no machine learning program can give them our skills, our vision, or our heart

And they hate that

Part of the way social media makes people crazy is notifying them of every single damn thing. Turn it all off. Look at the site when you want to. Never, ever allow it to make your phone make noise. Nothing that important is going to happen here.
I turn of all notifications for literally every damn app. My phone only rings out loud if it's someone who's in my phone book and it only beeps at me if I set an alarm or a loved one is texting.
This is a good thread to read. I will only add that I do not get ANY social-media notifications or news alerts on my phone and it is a foundational building block of my sanity that no nonhuman entity, not even Bluesky, gets to initiate conversations with me.
