honestly if you want to do something book-ish to support us, nothing gives us more joy than requesting our books at your library. (and also, you know, supporting your library!!!)

also I mean, what better tribute to the Mercenary Librarians. 💓💃
Huh. Apparently Kit Rocha as an author is getting notice since I just had four books added across two library systems. @mostlybree.kitrocha.com

I was lucky. My ideation came after I stopped taking a med (at dr’s direction) and was spending the weekend with friends. They hid the knives, managed my sleep meds, and kept me safe.
...It was not. DH was away on business and I was alone in the house, and I woke up with a full blown plan in my head to make it stop. SOMETHING told me that wasn't right, and I called 911 on myself. They stayed on the line with me.

You know that "may cause suicidal thoughts" thing on meds? Yeah..

Also, @seanhollister.bsky.social has been hanging out with the Whistle Coven, and wrote a piece about it! The opening line is "Kit Rocha and Courtney Milan have a knack for drawing attention to a cause."

Our chaos field has been immortalized.

One day when I really want to burn it all down, I might write about the affect of this certain type of intellectual who engages with AI/LLMs/whatever like this. I’ve seen it up close and in person. They all have a empty eyed, hyper focused gaze — so far up their own asses they could shit a cough.
“She compares her work to the efforts of a parent raising a child. She’s training Claude to detect the difference between right and wrong while imbuing it with unique personality traits.”
This Philosopher Is Teaching AI to Have Morals
The tech company has entrusted the philosopher to endow its chatbot with a sense of right and wrong.

I can’t wait to get my hands on the physical book (March 31). And yes, I will acquire the audio too, because it is such a good listen. And now I have to wait until 2027 for the second book. Link to my full review posted below.

this is a crucial point
If Jeff Bezos could afford to spend $75 million on the Melania movie & $500 million for a yacht to sail off to his $55 million wedding to give his wife a $5 million ring, please don't tell me he needed to fire one-third of the Washington Post staff.

Democracy dies in oligarchy.

When is Maggie the Undying book 2 coming out? I am screaming (complimentary)!
The advance listener copy of Ilona Andrews’s This Kingdom Will Not Kill Me is 21 1/2 hours long. I’m 45 minutes from the end and I’m going to go back to the beginning and listen to it again. I need the physical copy in my hands.

In 2020 @totallydonna.kitrocha.com & I started a trilogy about 3 book nerds (w/ superpowers) who just want to build a library for their community but shitty tech bros suck so they have to keep doing crimes.

Tor was kind enough to put book one on sale for $5.99!

Just a reminder that George Conway is not fundraising right now to run against a MAGA republican.

He is fundraising to run against progressive Democrats.

I have already had to remind someone that our 2026 resolutions are to be a menace and eat more carbs. She rewrote the email to her awful sister-in-law and put in the appropriate “per my last email “ and “hope that helps.”

In 2026 I want all of the decent people to remember one thing.

You aren’t meant to be this disciplined, this self-sacrificing to survive. The environment is supposed to support good living. We can have that. You are not a failure. That is politics.

That is all.

I don’t celebrate any religious holidays, but I do participate in the gift giving. This year I got some amazing books, which apparently even people who barely know me, know is the way to my heart. I’m looking forward to Jenkins July this year, and learning about Scandalous Kansas City.

They'll blame a lot of stuff on Trump AND try to fast-track an even uglier Christofascism.

We must be preparing for this now & organizing accordingly.

I miss getting into bed and going to sleep. I haven’t been able to do that regularly in like 20 years, but I miss it. I had a long, exhausting day, but it still takes 4 hours for my brain to wind down enough to turn off.

I’m reading a review of a lovely sounding novella titled Eastbound, so naturally my redneck brain starts blaring, “Eastbound and down, loaded up and truckin’. We gonna do what they say can’t be done.” And then I have to listen to it 5 times before my brain will let it go.
