A few hours later she was talking about how much farther her $ would have gone if she had just given the $. So she worked her way around to it. But she had to do it, I couldn’t just tell her.

After some googling and talking she realized she has an emotional block to giving cash, so we researched some orgs that are looking for in kind donations and she bought a bunch of pads, tampons and underwear to donate to a group that provides services to the unhoused.

I hope we see them next year too.

Thanks for prompting me to remember it. I wore it the next year too, but as a Nutter Butter cookie because I had lost the top hat.

When I was 8 or 9 (a million years ago), my dad built me a Mr Peanut costume out of plywood and covered it with fabric that he painted to look like a cartoon peanut shell. I found a top hat and made a monocle. I loved it, but it is long gone.

I’m not sure which one I’m happier about. 😂
